Default refurbish Stock ZR1 exhaust

hey everyone just wondering if anyone has ever refurbished the stock zr1 exhaust so it looks like new i.e. sanding priming and high temp heat painting it? i want to make the exhaust look brand new on a tight budget...thanks

here's what i'm starting with..no major rust i have to worry about

Only the muffler "cans" were painted, some just the rear portion and the extensions like in your one snapshot or some the complete "can"!

I've seen someone take 0 and 00 steel-wool and actually polish the balance of the system. The system can certainly be made to look "spectacular" with the steel-wool. I doubt I'd paint the complete system. It serves no practical purpose! It would likely be much more difficult to maintain.

Do you have a ZR-1 for the exhaust?

yeah i have a 1990 black zr1...if i used steel wool wouldn't that make it more susceptible to rust? i want to try to stop rusting as much as possible and i have a dessert exhaust system on my zr1 right now that i'm looking to do the same to..here's some pics

I had mine sand blasted..then steel paint/rust remover attachment on my drill... didn't over sand then high temp cleared it... so it wont rust!
