Default Pre Production Pilot Line ZR1 #14

There are 2 reconstructed pilot cars that may be availble. One is s/n 14which was reconstructed by Gene Tucker for Joe Robuck in 96.

Does anyone know who owns this car now?

Thanks

I visited with Mike Yeager a week ago and saw his car and other cars. Love the blue one he has.

I have a tentative agreement on a World Challenge Morrison car that was wrecked by Heinricy at Homestead. Looks like another rebuild on the books this Winter.

I haven't received the pics yet but the price is right.

Robert D has bits and pieces if you need some. If you do it like your others it will be something to see when done. You going to race it in HSR?

I have to laugh at myself, Tyler. I don't even know what HSR is! (Historic ? Racing???)

I've sunk so deep into 53's for so long now that I'm out of touch with the rest of the Corvette world.

I just want to rebuild it to it's "as raced" configuration and hang out with the Challenge guys at some shows for a change of pace.

I still have to seal the deal but it's pretty much done after the conversation I had today about what's left of the car. Steve and I can put it on the rack and check for squareness and then I'll put it together with the help of a donor car and parts from Robert and maybe Morrison.

From what I can see, the Morrison car had a Momo or similar unit. I'm going to try to reach Morrison this week and see what he has that can be purchased for the car and what the car was equipped with.

This is going to be fun!

Toys deserve a sandbox to play in. I will be at Sebring with a friend who races a 58 Lister in the prelims.

Got the pics and did the deal. This will be a fun build. Research for the Morrison cars in action, THIS ONE, will be a neat chase for pcitures of it "as raced".

I sure will. This is going to be such a cool diversion from the 53-55 cars for me, even though I'm in the middle of doing two 53's at the moment. Hope to have both done by May. Then, I can focus on the race car for a while.

I was at Bloomington Gold in 1997 and there was a white ZR-1 that had just been brought back, I believe it was an 89. It was up for auction but not sure if it sold then.

Same car.

Brett

Here is the car in early 94:

This is what it looked like in March 96.

Thus is the car June 96 after being 'restored'.

Last I heard was that Aron Scott had the motor for this car and knew who owned it and had tried to contact the owner. You might want to give him a call, Here is his web page.

Default Wow

It's amazing what you can do once things are straightened, cut, fitted and /or replaced. Once the foundatoin is sound, it's all just bodywork. I'd love to tackle a project like that. I think I'll call him and inquire about the car. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Thanks Tyler
