Re: (scorp508)
Its the locking nut for the centercap. These wheels take the 88-89 factory centercap. I run this car with them off and just have the locking nut in them to take up the hole that would be there and provide a great storage place for the factory lock nut. If you run the caps off, the centercap is the 90 only cap an it snaps right in. I run 2 cars with the caps on, my stock 88 callaway roadster and my 88 35th with paxton. This car and my ZR1 have the caps off with the 90 centercap and nice lugs just as a tougher look.

Matt, I want one of those custom 3" ZR-1 exhausts you have. How much will it take for your guy to build another one.

Hey Cam,
I'll set you up with Joe. It will probably cost 5-700. If you have a couple of good mufflers like 3" flowmasters or non stainless equivilant, you can use those. If not I recommend 3" flo-pro's or flow masters as they are a heavy steel unit, unlike the chepo turn brown and crack, borla, corsa, etc. The tips I use are avalible and are part of the expense as the cost is 48 a piece X4. I bought them straigt from the vendor and they are the best I have found. Joe has some similar that are alot cheaper in looks and quality, but will work if you did not want to spend that. The other thing you have to consider is the resonator. I used to run my ZR1 without it, and I like loud, but it was freakin unreal. I now have the flowmaster center resonator that came with the "ok" flow master ZR1 exhaust and had Joe build back from that. It is much better that way and I an going to try and find another for my other ZR1 but have not tried yet.
If you cannot find a resonator, I suggest using 2 3" high quality short glass paks in its place where the factory resonator is. Desert development used to do that on the exhaust they built for those that wanted it not so loud and I may end up doing this on my other car if I cannot find the flowmaster piece to put inline.
The main thing about Joe, is the quality of the pipe, there is no exhaust in existance that you can buy thats even close.
Just email me when you are ready and can do without your car for a few days and I'll take you up there.

Arrghh, I hate leaving my car somewhere. It's my baby ya know. I guess if you trust him then that speaks volumes. I was thinking after I recover from the Christmas cash hemmorage.

I've known Joe since he used to weld for Kens mufflers shop on N.W. Hwy. the first car he did for me was my 73 Chevy Caprice 454 , back in 74 when I was still in high school. Joe has pretty much done all my exhaust work for most of my cars. I guess you can say I've helped Joe put a few kids thru college.

Re: 89 Callaway Pictures taken in garage (OldZR-1Guy)
Nice to see my old car is being well cared for. I am the original owner of #34. Sold it back in '95. Was mint when I sold it, having been Bloomington Gold certified, and still looks great. Nice garage. I noticed lots of little cosmetic changes. I hope you like it as much as I did.
Insight here since youve run the car to 200mph......
