Many years ago Curtis Ward has his old 90 touch 200 MPH on one of the ORR. He was then DQ'd for going to fast for his class, but hey. How many folks can say they turned the ZR-1 out 200+? Not me.

I've been over 200 a few times with the Z - but I'm not a fan of cruising down the interstate for 20 miles at that speed! A quick 2 mile blast and shut her down!

Don't badmouth what you're not familiar with. Going 200 mph is no more dangerous than going 150 mph or 250 mph. The number is meaningless. Going 65 mph is extremely dangerous too. The conditions are what are important. Being fearFUL is quite important, however.
So you think your chances of surviving a crash at 250 are the same as 65?
Even NASCAR keeps them below 200.
Live fast, die young and leave a pretty corpse.

I have to agree with Dwight here...I've been on the North side of 150 a number of times and can tell you that a short burst to 170+ is a lot less scary (and dangerous) than a prolonged run at 140. Conditions (weather, track, etc) have a lot to do with how safe you are on a short run. OTOH, a long run is full of possible catastrophic outcomes. Unless you're setup for ORR (even that's no guarantee), if you're going 140 or faster for more than a minute then you're asking for it.

NASCAR is running quicker than 200 this year with the COT @ a few of the 2 mile tracks.

At 200 mph you are traveling over 3.3 miles/min or 293 feet per second. Here's what it looks like from the side of the road when a car passes at about 200 mph
and here's what happens when you have a blow out at 204 mph
No public road is safe for speeds much over posted limits and speeds of the 100mph and over are an accident waiting to happen. You see the results of inexperienced wanabee racers on TV and in newspapers too often for my comfort.

looks like it was run on one of the Arizona Freeway systems to me. And looks like three seperate dumazzes to me. If they want to run take it to the track.
