Hey all!
I just heard that Vette Magazine might be canceling the Purple Project(ZR-1) and Big Block from Hell series. Has anyone else heard about this? I for one really enjoyed the writeups on both vehicles and would hate it if I can't see the 'end result' of both cars. It's these kinds of 'tech' articles that makes a magazine good to a 'do it yourselfer' like me.

At the time it just had headers, chip and 4.10s. Now that I have the top end done I'm looking for 11.80s this Oct. when I run it. Will keep everyone apprised.

I also enjoyed reading the purple project and big block from hel build ups. I certainly hope this isn't true.

I'm building LT5 headers, Aaron Scott at South GA Corvette did the top end work. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for LT5 modifications. Hope this helps.

I'm sorry to confirm what Brian A. has said.
Three weeks ago, Vette Magazine Editor, Bob Wallace, notified me that he was killing both of those series. Even more unfortunate, I think, is Editor Wallace's decision leaves both projects unfinished. His reasons for cancelling both projects were lack of advertiser interest in the Purple Project and his not getting any reader input (email, letters, etc.) about the Big-Block from Hell.

I really hope that magazine get its act toguether. I just got my last issue, and after 2 minutes of going over it, It went straight in the garbage!!
I definetly like GM high tech a lot better, althoug not about corvettes, it is about fast cars....

I emailed Hib to ask him if he would be interested in letting the LT5 Registry re-print the entire Purple Project in our KOTH magazine as an Honorary Member or Guest Columnist. We could probably print one episode an issue. What do you folks think about this idea?

After talking to Hib,it's probably a longshot for us to be able to publish the Purple Project series in our "King of the Hill" magazine. Having said that,however,I'll keep trying to make it happen.
George,David; I still want to do feature articles on your ZR-1's but it's up to you to make it happen. :D
