Default ZR1 Owner Feedback please

Hey guys. I've been thinking about picking up another toy and i'm interested in a ZR1. I've never driven a C4 so how does it feel compared to the C6? Could you give me a general description about everything you love and hate about your ZR1's?

The car feels like you are piloting an F16 fighter jet! That is the best way I can describe it!

Best comparison.

C6 is easy to drive fast and at the limit. Things are crisp.

ZR-1 you need to be on your toes and paying attention. It's more raw.

I own both an 07 C6 and a 91 ZR1, and when it's time for ORR events the 07 stays at the house. The ZR1 is much more fun to drive at insane speeds "legally."

ZR1's are incredible cars. They are a little rough around the edges compared to the C5's and C6's, but you'll know you're really in a Corvette. They have a wide power band and love to be driven to red line. If you're a slim build, the sport seats in the early years are fantastic. If you're a large person, the later year sport seats offer more room, but in my opinion offer much less support. And if you haven't already figured it out, the LT5 is an incredibly strong and reliable engine. If you drive one, you're probably going to buy one.

I've got a '90 ZR-1 and my fiance has a '07 Z51 Convertible.

I would rather drive the ZR-1 any day of the week.

The C6 has a larger interior and much shorter throws on the tranny, but it feels like the Z accelerates MUCH faster. The Z throws you back in the seat while the C6 has a nice smooth powerband.

On the interior side, I actually like the way the C4 wraps around you. I'm a little big (6'6 275) but I can fit in the Z just fine.

Go for the ZR-1 and join the brotherhood! Hell, you'll also save about 20 grand!!!

I have a '91 and I wouldn't give it up for any other vette. I've driven my father's '08 Z06, and while that car is wicked fast and real smooth, I wouldn't give my ZR-1 up for anything. Once you drive one, you'll be hooked.

The wife calls her C6 the "regular" Vette.

Thanks for the input guys. I checked out both cars and i'm leaning more towards the viper. It had that more raw race car feel.

That it does! No cruise control! What year Viper?

Only downside to the viper: get ready for a big ol crowd everywhere you go. You simply cannot drive or park this vehicle without everyone honking, asking questions and swarming the car. I hated my experience with the viper for this reason. Also - I despise the sound of the V-10 - but it is hands down the most gorgeous looking car there is! What a beauty! It gets as much looks as a Ferrari! Maybe more!

Tell us the year and color Viper!
