415 CID Lingenfelter Stroker

True - the only one to change the deck height - hence the 'kinda'. It can be done, but it certainly isn't cheap, and it requires a brand new plenum, longer cam chains, new liners, rods, pistons, crank, etc etc.
It proves that the LT5 can make serious power though - from 431 cid, Fastlane made over 900 hp! That is a BOATLOAD of horsepower N/A!!!

My car is an LPE 415 with a pretty radical porting job, but was delivered with 239 .440" intake and 220 <I forget, smaller lift> exhaust cams.
SGC installed 242 .450" cams ("Stage 3") intake and exhaust and timed them for top end torque.
Marc Haibeck finally got it tuned properly last summer. He pulled the port throttles, installed RC injectors and got it running very nicely. Nicely being defined as a lumpy 1,000 rpm idle, pulls like stock from 2-4,000 rpm, flattens your eyeballs over 4,500 and gets 24 mpg on the highway.
Your best bet - financially - is probably finding a 415 that's already been done. Aside from that, I would talk to everybody that's currently doing LT5 work before committing those kinds of bucks. Find someone you're comfortable with.

Hal,
I've been out of pocket here for several weeks so sorry for no comment up till now. I appreciate your thoughts and the perturbations you've gone through with your 415. I've talked to Marc, Aaron (SGC) and many here on the forum including three now that have 415 strokers. I'm currently on the fence with the project. Anything anyone can comment on to push me one way or the other is appreciated.
Regards

You could just buy an adapter kit to mate the LT5 specific tranny to a LSX motor... cheaper....more power!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure a LSx motor will fit in your engine bay. You can then make a beautiful end table out of your LT5, or pehaps make a rapper type necklace pendant out of it (might be "little" heavy,, but if you're man enough) by looping a hefty gold chain through an engine lift eye!!!! Brilliant I tell ya!!!!!

And home to the Abita Brew Pub and one of the best Shrimp po-boys you will ever eat! I grew up about 45 minutes from there and always make the journey over to eat. Did not make it this Christmas though

A26B might put his SGC 415 up for sale.
He and I are doing low compression 372's...
I'll have some details in the next ZR1 NetReg news letter. 372 @ 13-15 psi will be nice @ 2/3rds the cost of a 415.
