Just wondering what ever happen to the Atomic Z? Any updates or track times from that wicked azz Callaway Atomic Z from Nebraska?

Just curious.

I haven't seen Dennis since BG but I think he's got his Aero back, doubt he's had time to track it.

Bummer, I hope he gets it back soon because the snow is going to be flying out here before long.

Having built ALL the custom billet pieces for the Atomic Z to include the front emblem and gas door emblem I am anxious to see the Z more in the lime light. Dennis keeps adding goodies which has backed up the "delivery" date but it was NOT BG.
Mike (EES) at www.acsvette.com has pretty much met all Dennis's add-ons and will be on the dyno/track soon. Mike is also finishing up the small stuff on a new house he built during this time, also. That is one busy guy!
Hang in there for further details as this car is gonna fly

Mike worked his tail off to get my car to the point it was at BG in May. We both knew it wasn't finished, but our choice was get it running enough and go to BG or just stay home.

The O2 sensors were both bad causing SES. When Mike got back I made several changes to how I wanted my car to be. The decision was do it now while the car is down rather than postpone something I wanted to do.

I elected to use the LPE fuel pressure regulator I acquired here. Well that damn thing didn't work. On a side note it was taken apart and someone is in the process of making these...stay tuned for that.

In adding the nitrous to my car, which as you could see from an earlier post is completely hidden, I wanted all the gauges and switches within reach and yet retain a completely stock appearance. I also added the Moates chip controller as well as the MSD DIS4 ignition. I also told Mike that my line lock and the two step switches needed to be stealth also. Mike has met every challenge that I put before him.

I have also discussed with Mike that I wanted him to run my car at the track down there for several reasons...1) He knows how to drive 2) this would give me a benchmark against his 427 3) this would tell me what my car is capable of and 4) if he breaks it, he can fix the weak link.

We also did several things to strengthen the rear end so that we can launch hard.

He will run my car on the same day as his both NA and on the spray.

I am more anxious than anyone, but at the same time I want it just right before I take it.

P.S. If you had any idea the POS camper (not trailer...a camper) that Mike has been living in since Katrina you'd understand too when he gets distracted with his new house.

Well put Dennis Mike has gone through hell since Katrina and is just now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. He has done a fantastic job on the ATOMIC Z. Everyone hold on tight as this one will be a rocket! Take care Dennis

I think this is without a doubt one of the 2 most awsome zr1s i have ever seen (the other bob halls) Mike definatly doesnt get the dredit he deserves by some for his tireless efforts in the developement of these cars . i wish I had the money to have one done . you are a very lucky man . if i had that car i would sleep in it. could you share the rear end modds . i am so tired of breaking things at the strip . ps mike if you read this i just put the ck in the mail for those gaskets . sorry so late but have been getting settled into new diggs . brad
