Default 7000 rpm in 3day new Z

pulled the trigger on a 90 blk/gray z 48,000mi. How can you help but put your foot in it? Reved it up to about 7000 a couple times on accident (still learning to drive it) I guess I just need some reassurance that it will take that kind of abuse. Love driving it though.
