Default ZR-1 KOTH and L8Apex

Hope this link works but its a cool pic of me on course autocrossing the 91 taken across the nose of a 93 ZR-1 that is stopped getting his timing sheet.

BTW, the 91 took fasted Vette and second fastest of the day in a 60 car field. take a look at the other pics to see some of the competition vehicles.

How many Corvettes autocrossed? Just four? It's nice to see our "nose heavy" cars do good in autocross.

Let me ask you, how do you like and what are your impressions of driving the ZR-1 in autocross, say compared to your Z06?

6 or 8 Vettes, pics are from 2 of the 4 heats. The spec road racer , a little Porchse race prepped car and a spec Miata beat my raw time by but only the Porchse had clean runs. Suburu WRX, prepped 350Z, and a couple of Evo Lancers were tough too.

ZR-1 and Z06 are totally different cars. I love the ZR-1 and have AX and Tracked it for about 3 years so I know what it will do and when it will do it. Some VBP springs and poly bushings really made it handle better but it still has C4 brakes and that is one of the biggest differnces in it and the Z06.

Z06 is quicker everywhere, I just have not learned to drive it yet. The only real advantage of the ZR-1 is the high RPM's that let me shift less.

I've got the VBP springs ready to go in mine but I'm thinking about the sway bar ...What have you got for a front sway bar in that 91 if yoyu dont' mind me asking?

thanks

GREAT job Tony--2nd (!) overall in an old ZR warhorse on what looks like a cold day that certainly doesn't favor big race meats--way to go!

I came in 7th overall (1st in class of 13) out of 117 @ our event yesterday in the STi--but I was on streeties though

Look what else showed up on Hoosier A6s!

Barbra, I still have the stock sways, 26mmhollow front and 26mm solid rear. Greg recommends 32mm solid front and stay with the 26mmsolid rear. If you want something tight like an 88 Z51 I'd go with Greg's suggestion. I'd tell you who was running that package but I'd have to kill you

George...there was a blue subbie like yours out there and that thing was turning like a bandit! I had new CCW's with fresh Kuhmo 710 meat 335/315 combo that hooked and took me to the front except for the go cart wannabees

Does that yellow thing you ran against blow cones over when it hovers??

Here is the winning "car" http://hr404.smugmug.com/gallery/2460174#129029364-L-LB

Was that a concrete site, Tony? If so, I understand how you got grip in the cold. Our normal site is mediocre asphalt & grip w/ race tires is @ a premium when it's cold here.

I was instructing the guy in the Lambo. I could just feel the potential of the car on the massive A6s, but unfortunately he's not a driver

That thing had FTD potential w/ its HP & massive AWD grip on the Hoosiers. He won't let anyone else (like me!) drive it though

Yep, 50 year old concrete bomber training base, we patch the worst spots each year but it still comes apart since 3 different clubs use it to AX each month.

What exactly was that thing, looks like a Lambo of some kind?

This Diasio spec racer was scuffing tires for a race at VIR next week

With that big wing, that Diasio looks rear heavy. If I was a giant, I'd step on it's tail.

It was more fun using the ZR-1 to send it home with its "tail" between its legs :lolg

But the driver ain't all bad he also runs a Grand Sport in BSp with me.
