Default Fidanza flywheel questions....

Dot the Fidanza flywheels need balancing? Also, what clutch package is recommended with these?

Thanks!

No they dont need balanced good to go out of the box. What clutch to used will depend on you HP / torq numbers and driving style .If you make 400 at the wheels or so the stock will be just fine ,This will start a big thread hang on...

just run the stock clutch, you'll be fine with anything short of a TT ZR-1

The Fidanza/stock clutch works well on the street, but I had no luck with the Fidanza and a stock clutch at the track, went about five rounds(5-10 minute breaks in between) and the clutch just got too hot and started slipping pretty bad.....I changed to a sprung hub disc shortly after and never had an issue since!

I had Doug Rippie re-flash my chip to idle @ 900rpm's to get rid of the low rpm/idle rattle that the Fidanza is famous for....works great!!!

The only two TT's that i have ever seen RUN at the TRACK are both running an auto trans.....i wonder how well a TT using the 6 speed would hold up after a couple runs?

This is going to be part of my winter project. Did the sprung hub help reduce some of the noise? Also, did it take 900 rpm's to finally quiet it down or do you think that you could have gotten away with a little less?
TIA
Mike

The noise was about the same using the sprung hub, i then tried some thicker trans fluid ...very little change there as well! Between 1000rpm and 900rpm was the magic number from Doug R. when i talked with him(not sure if you could go lower), but the 900rpm setting got rid of the noise all together! If your car is still together try strting it up and let it get warm and see if it goes away at maybe 800rpm......it sounds funny but that's how I decided to go with the 900rpm set in the chip.

Good luck
