Default Clutch Slave Cylinders

Are the clutch slave cylinders the same through the years for the ZR1, and are the same as the non-ZR1 cars?

The reason I ask is I had bought one for my 94 LT1 and it was like 60-80 bucks, can't remeber which. I went to get one for my 90Z, and the want over a $100.

Yea the bleeder on the 89-90 hits the floor so they had to break it off!

If you buy a new slave from GM or aftermarket be aware that some bone head on the assembly line put the piston seal in backwards. There is a thread over in C4 tech/performance about it with pictures of what you might find and what should be, by =jeff=.

The seal has a taper, like a stopper kind of. Some were put in so the taper faces the fluid, it was easier to put in that way! The taper should face away from the fluid...back of the cylinder...toward the fork. Oh, watch out for the metal particles in there also!

Tacking it apart is easy to check the seal theres a noce right up that the ZFdoc wrote up, its also a good idea to check the cylinder bore for rust
