There was a '56 Nomad at last years Barret Jackson auction in Scottsdale that had a LT5 slipped under her hood. I had to do a double take, it looked really nice.
There was 2 shoebox cars at the Detroit hot rod show this past weekend that were equipped with LT-5s. One, a buick, looked very very well done and the owner has a purple 95 ZR-1 as well.
Location: No more yankee my wankee, the Donger is tired!

That being said - you'd be much better off with an LS2/6 instead - much more expandability for far less $$$
Even though it would look trick and sound awesome get the LS2 in there. You can do a good 402 build up and have all the power that is insane and be at a reasonable budget. I know one guy is already using the LS7 motor for his.
Those GTM's are pretty cool. I'm sure an LS series engine would make more sense but an LT-5 would really make it something special. I'm sure it could be done...just takes money.

I'm not sure it could. If you look closely at the engine pictures the intake manifold is mounted backwards - the t-body is hanging over the bell housing. I'm not sure how you would do that on an lt5
