Default BFG T/A KD's or GY Supercar Tires

I'm going to be needing some new rubber. Anybody got experience with the BFG T/A KD's vs the GY SC's.

I've got some 6 year old BFG Comp T/A's on it now, I'm assuming either would be a step up. More interested in traction from the hole shot.

I bet the GY SC's are a better tire but dang, they are about $130 more each from what I can gather.

Would like to have some input from folks running the two brands, and if anybody has a connection that might provide a discount.

Check out this month's Car & Driver. They have a test of performance tires. It proved what I would say about the KDs. GREAT dry tire..., but not good in the rain.

I have the KDs and since my beast isn't a daily driver (ie., if it rains it stays in the garage) I like them for the grip.

I read the Car & Driver report, the BFG T/A KD's beat almost everyone out on dry pavement, even the GY Supercars, I only drive it when it's dry, so I guess it's gonna be the T/A KD's for me in the near future, thanks for the tip.

Nice try. Those AREN'T supercar tires -they are GSD3s. The GSD3s have less dry grip than the supercar tires, but are far superior in the rain. I've pulled 1.8 second 60 foot times on my supercar tires, and they are rated to run high speeds, which I may have done from time to time! The supercar tires are average in the wet, which is way better than the KDs - or so I'm told!

Sorry, I stand corrected, not sure what I was thinking, so now I'm back to trying to determine if which ones to buyt. Thanks for the correction.

I put on a new set of SC's this spring and after only running GSC's before I am very impressed with them, but if I was going to put more than a couple k a year on them a year, I would look for a less expensive tire

OUCH..! Yea, I see what you mean. I just looked at the TireRack and the SCs are $381 and the KDs are $253 per tire.
