I was about to start the ZR-1 tonight. Turned the key to the "on" position and a clicking sound was coming from the engine compartment. I popped the hood and it was coming from the passenger side, near the front driving light. With the key "on" it would just "click, click, click". I cranked the motor but couldn't tell if the click sound went away. Does anyone know what this part is? It was too dark to take a picture. Sorry if I didn't incclude enough information.
Location: This city NEVER sleeps! Frank's back yard!

Thank you for the help.. It looks like the LT1 will be going to the golf course tomorrow instead of my Z
No need to suffer at the hands of the LT1. A secondary pump that doesn't work will only be a problem on a looooooooooooong 5th gear pull to 180 mph - just keep her under 160 mph, and you'll be fine.
yeah no worries you can drive the car with that not working, it helps keep the vacum for the secondaries in check, so if you for some reason loose vacum it will keep it up, Pull it out and carefully take the top off its comon for the contacts to get corroded becasue water gets in to it, then after cleaning it see if it works then reseal the top with some perma gasket the factory one is for sure dry rotted by now
The pump does click. You need to determine if you have a leak. Take the vaccum line off and put your finger over the tip. If the pump stops you have a good pump but a leak in the lines.
