Default best way to launch

At what RPM do the secondaries open in 1st gear? (4.09 gears)
I'm trying to find to best way to launch for 0-60 times, when I nail it from a stand still at idle it seems to wind out until about 4500K and then kicks in hard. If I rev it up to 3500+ and dump the clutch it breaks traction.

With 4.09 gears, what type of tires are you running ? It all depends on your traction. You want to limit spinning and at the same time not bog the engine. Sounds like you need to practice till you find what works on your car.

Gotta slip the clutch to keep the rpms up while getting a very slight amount of tirespin, then dial in more throttle as the tires hook and you go WOT. Practice!

My tires are BF Goodrich ZR COMP T/A P315/35 ZR17, looks like it's going to take some practice
My friend has 02 Z06, his car graps good on the line (super sticky). Once I learn how to hookup I think I will be able to take him. My ZR-1 seems to have more tourqe in 2nd and 3rd.

How old are your tires ? They seem to get very hard after 4-5 years ...I went with the Nitto drag radial out back its got the right amount of traction for my Zr1 which is at about 340rwhp ...The Goodyear GSC,s spun alot 1st and 2nd gear ....Nittos are speed rated for 150mph which is higher then BFG,s drag radial ...
Traction is the key as 8388 stated

I was told the tires were new and and had only 1000 miles on them, I can't tell, they seem to have alot tread though. I'm going to practice more, I have had the car for ony 2 days and it's night and day compared to my 77 Vette.
The owner told me it had s DRM 500/450 package and makes around 400rwhp.

If your breaking traction at 3,500 your either not slipping the clutch enough or you need to reduce the rpm to 3,000 and try it.
With my 4:09 I launched at 3,500 rpm with drag radials so I'm sure your over powering the tires. Keep lower the rpm until you get traction or get stickier tires.
Practice, practice and more practice. Good luck!

I've been practicing for 2 years now and still don't have it right.

Now with my new clutch just installed I have to start from scatch.

I've noticed that if I turn the suspension on 'soft' during the hole shot, the front end rises some and the car squats in the rear, and seems to hook up a little better, after a 2nd gear powr shift, I reach down and turn the switch to 'firm' before I go into third. Takes a little practice.

Make sure you run your buddy with the Z06 from a roll ...He,s got a weight advantage sitting still , but with your DRM package it should be no problem pulling him ...if his stock
