Default Gearbox Restoration.

With new drain & fill plugs fitted,a rinse out with fresh fluid, rear housing gasket replaced and new oil seal fitted to the rear i wire brushed and and cleaned the casing and made good use of a sunny day to give the casing a coat of aluminium paint(thanks for your advice Phrogs),next job is to fit the hurst shifter up and refill with fresh fluid before refitting the box.
As you can see she's come up like new, needless to say ime well pleased with my rookie gearbox resto.

Cliff, that is a beautiful sight. Looks like you had a good weekend.

I finally got around to trying out my DataMaster laptop software.
Did a flight test with my 90 ZR-1, gathered some data, and started learning lots of new stuff. ...A good weekend.

No LoTu5, this is just scanning software. This is more like Engine Management 101. At this stage I want to simply learn the basics of what is going on. I also want to establish baseline data that I can use as a reference point in the future to diagnose problems.

It's really interesting to replay a flight test and try and figure out how all of the data relates. So far all codes are clear but I did notice that the engine is running slightly rich at certain RPM and MAP levels. I'm going to try changing the air filter and check again.

I am still on the 20 use demo version. I wonder if other forum members have opinions as to how the DataMaster software stacks up against other available software packages.
