Default How much of a HP boost

Hi,

I just purschased a 90 ZR-1 with a Doug Rippe chip and Flowmaster exhaust. I am wondering just how much of a HP boost these two products might produce over the stock 375 HP.

Thanks

If I were you I,d go get a few dyno pulls and see the RWHP numbers ....The 90 cars are known to be very strong as a whole I guess they were allowed a freer hand on the port/polishing ...
chip=5-10 rwhp
exhaust 10-12 rwhp

What car did you buy and where are you located ?

Sorry but the 90s weren't known as having a bit more. There were production problems with the very early engines and that is exactly why the dyno sheets will never see the light of day. I'm giving you guys a very big hint here. You will never see the dyno sheets. That's all I'm saying.

I bought this car from a collector here in San Diego. It is in remarkable shape for a 1990 with 41K in it. Red on red and it runs very strong indeed. I am not sure what the comment was about dyno results, but if I had them, I would publish them.

Doubt I will dyno it as I am not that interested in the number. Just curious about these two mods.

Thanks for all the responses.

My 90 #2043 with a rippie chip and corsa exhaust made:

340 rwtq, and 345 rwhp which is about 400 fwtq and 409 fwhp. Hope that helps!!

Default hp boost

It seems from what others have said in other threads... the cam timing was one of the most critical aspect in terms total hp in an otherwise stock engine... As far as dyno sheets... as you will doing anyway... go make your own... What you want is "todays" hp and torque numbers... Then calculate from the advertised hp & tq of 15 years ago... These dyno numbers have so many other factors to consider in terms of accuracy anyway... such as the dyno, weather, not to mention the changes in the chip... If your car dynos a calculated 400 to 405 at the crank as stated earlier... then your mods have made a respectable difference in total output... and you are blessed !
Get some gears... 4.10s are about a 19% torque increase over 3.45s It will feel stronger even though it is not... just more fun !
My 2 cents

The car does have a 4.10 rear as I understand it. Sure feels frisky enough!

Thanks for all the help.
