half of all optispark problems are related to the high-voltage side.
Carbon tracing, coil and ignitor failures...
This system replaces the highvoltage side with a Cadillac Northstar lost-spark coil pack.
I have the other system, the LTCC, that works very well.
It is expensive, but it will make for better high RPM operation. If you are designing a high RPM motor, the rotor in the opti can come apart at over 6500 RPM - by doing this kit, you eleminate the problem, cause you can remove the rotor!
The opti stays there, cause it is used for it's optical pickup.
I recommend such a system. Seems to make sense. Much better spark... more reliable at high RPM, less prone to secondary failures.

It is almost worth the price simple because you can easily access your spark plug wires! No longer are you having to route wires to the front of the engine. Plus if you have headers you can keep the wires farther away from the tubes.
Their customer service is second to none too!

Even thought my car, as a stock machine, will not benefit much if at all from installation of the Deltec DI system, I would still like to do it someday just for the factor Upgrades your Vette to a state of the art ignition system.

I just installed mine about 2-3 months ago. I am very pleased with it and am glad to not have to hassle with that stupid opti anymore or worry about it ever getting wet or just die on me. The install was simple and only took about 30 min. Well worth the $

Well worth it.. Was easy to install, support is great!! Worked great while car was running.. Had some problems with the '94, but it wasn't with the Delteq, but that's another story.. I'm now waiting for warmer weather to install it on the '96..
I don't think you will be disappointed..

I've reaplaced my optspark 3 times and always because of the "opti" pick up failing. How does removing the cap and rotor out of it help it not fail anymore?

GM has had a run on bad parts lately... I would get a Dyna-Spark and leave it at that.

bogus, How do you know about the bad parts? Do you have first hand experience? Is GM giving warranty on electrical components?
