Procharger! Don't have to keep refilling a bottle!

No! NOS! It cost far less money! Best bang for the buck!

Goals and budget.

Ive done both.

The best description of nitrous is inconvenient, and inconsistenT.

I had the nx wet system with all the bells and whistles. Bottle heater, blanket, in cabin fuel and nitrous pressure gage pod.....

The problem with nitrous is you make more power on a full bottle vs anything less.

And...heres the kicker...

This is true even if you use a bottle heater to spray at the same psi each time (on the full tank vs. ex. Half tank)

Has something to do with the ratio of liquid nitrous to gaseous.
The ratio is More liquid (vs gas form nitrous) with a full tank.

This is annoying as he11. Its like if your cAr made more power on half a tank of fuel.

Also your tq comes on hard and decreases rapidly with rpm vs. a centrifugal supercharger where tq builds about right up to your redline.

Im on procharger p600b, blowerworks 8 rib conversion, meth/water inj, afr 195 comp heads, 1 7/8" headers

Its a real thrill. Wish i would have never wasted money on the nitrous system

I like the blower idea in the long run even tho its expensive

Only thing i would do is get the proper sized injectors and either blowerworks maf or do speed density conversion with ebl flash p4. True boost based fueling instead of an fmu

Stock fuel pump or even aftermarket 255-340 lph wont like high fuel pressure supply with an fmu

Headwork, miniram, exhaust and cam work well too.

Supercharged.

Sure, Nitrous is cheap.... at first. After a few refills though, it's not so cheap anymore, and as a previous poster alluded to it's at it's best when the tank is full.

Supercharging, and boost in general is also amazing, if you do a lot of high elevation driving. Boost, loses less horse power, with changes in air density, than does a naturally aspirated engine.

That and there's nothing...and I mean nothing quite like a boosted engine.

Gotta make sure with either one, that the engine is up to handling it. Compression tests, and coolant gas contamination checks are a must at the very least to make sure the engine's healthy enough.

Thanks for asking.

Yes, stock bottom end. Absolutely no problems if done right.

12.5 psi max boost at 6000 rpm.

520 rwhp @5900 rpm.

Also note i took advantage that afr heads come in different cc sizes, so i dropped my compr ssion to 9.7:1 by putting bigger cc heads on.

Do a compression check to make sure the motor is good before you do this.

Also need upgrade fuel system. I have 2 fuel pumps and 60 lb hr inj. Dont rely on fmu's

Talk to greg at blowerworks

The stock knock system is good at preventing damage if its not circumvented. It saved my motor once before i did a fail safe on my methanol/water system

It took me 3 years to work out the bugs so and then they closed down the dragstrip near me.

Ive only have 5 runs on this combo on a still new to me unfamiliar dragstrip

On a 2.2 sec 60 ft botched launch i got a 12.2 at 123 mph
Im on a 6 speed.

The finAl mph shows that theres more et in it once i get my driving straightened out.

I beg you to talk to greg at blowerworks. He knows all the workarounds for cars of our vintage (especially the ecm).

Dont dare buy a procharger kit (the procharger head unit is a great blower but the supporting pieces, brackets, intercooler are all junk). Procharger admittd once to me that they dont do any more r&d to optimize their c4 blower kits.

If you dont listen you will end up spending almost 2x to get all the bugs fixed and buy the blowerworks system anyways. Thats kind of what happened to me.

I found a cheap used procharger p600b kit. I paid $2000 for it. Pretty much the only part thats still on my car from that kit is the head unit. Everything else was upgraded with blowerworks stuff

and you could increase displacement as well. For what I have seen supercharger and turbo kits for, you could probably get a 427sbc.
