Have you tried to fix it yet or are you looking for suggetions? The reason I ask is because I missed your previous thread.

Had the same basic problem with my '87 (which has the same motor as yours). Ended up being the gears. When I opened up the actuator/motor assembly, a couple of teeth on the large yellowish/white gear were messed up. Replaced both gears (there's also a black one in there); fixed the problem. I ordered my gears from Mid America, but you can get them from Ecklers as well. The instructions that came with them were pretty good. There is also a tech tip here on the forum that gives detailed instructions on how to replace the gear. If you decide to replace them and have any questions you can e-mail me direct at m-r-vettes@msn.com. Good luck

My lazy headlight was due to bad bushings which are also sold by most of the mags.

Check out this article from Corvette Fever. I got my bushings from Home Depot (item no. 595609.) I know they will fit 1988-96 C4s, but I'm not sure about 1984-87 since they used a different design.

They cost me .69 cents plus tax. Cheaper than the ones from MAM or Ecklers and no waiting for shipping. Read this article, then check out Home Depot if it turns out to be your bushings (most headlight problems ARE either bushings or gears.)

The '84 -'87s do not have the 3 bushings that are the normal cause of problems in the '88s and up.
