I am going by what I was told about the car. I have not verified the tach readings, but from the sound of the motor, it is revving near that I would guess. I have begun to wonder about the transmission as well. It is set for English. Almost forgot, the transmission is suspect as well because it doesn't seem to shift properly when the throttle is pressed all the way down. It doesn't seem to downshift... When I press hard on the highway, it just moaps along with no downshift... Hmmm

I agree that the tires should break loose. I just ahd 3.54s on an L98 auto and it would smoke the tires and chirp first to second. I took the gears out as anything more extemethe 3.07 is too much gear for the car (l98 runs out of ponies around 4800 rpm). At 70 mph yopu ate probably turning around 3 grand in OD. i would check the cats as well.
