I know the lt4 would toast a 02 or older mach 1 a lt1 would also....I think in 03 they added major power to the mach 1 in 02 I think they had 305hp I think it's the same at the 03 svt in 03 and 04 ones.

I see 02 and older ones at the track running 14's

What's there to know other than the LT4 would stomp on that stang big time.
Read my sig for LT4 1/4 times

The only late model stock stang capable of beating an LT-4 is the '03 Cobra - assuming a decent driver in the LT-4.

I know the Cobra is fast - one ran a 12.85 against my 12.93. I was pulling third and saw this Mustang next to me and thought WTF, then I came up for our next run and saw it was a Cobra. Nice guy driving it too.

I don't see the problem.

Even a stock LT1 should be able to beat a 2003 Mach 1. They only run low 14's in stock trim, which is bested by pretty much any LT1 C4.
An LT4, would totally wipe them up.

I've also read that they are having some odd issues with the power the MACH1's are putting down in real life. Some VERY few examples run like a raped ape with just an exhaust, intake and chip (low 13's to high 12's), but most others are luckt to break a mid to high 13 second run in the 1/4 with mods and stickies.

I agree MrNuke my 95 vert fot 13.2 and it's bone stock a mach 1 is basicly a GT power wise it's 305 not much more than the gt and it weighs a lot more than the gt so it puts it in the same class....people getthe mach 1 for the shaker hood mainly.

My buddy has a 2003 Mustang SVT GT. He had to pull over because he couldn't see for my tire smoke. Those Mustang's are pigs. But what can you expect from 4.6 liters.

You will be fine. I haven't seen many of those new (non 03 cobras) break into the 13's either. LT-4 should be able to own with a good driver.

:iagree: It would be close. Those Mach 1's are capable of going 12.9's with a good driver.

By the way......there were no 2002 Mach 1's.

 For the love of god! A mach1 is simply a 2002 cobra. The powerplant is a n/a 4valve 4.6L. The diffrence is the driver. As an example: My bestfriend from highschool has a grabber blue stick Mach1.

The car had 3,000 mi on it when we took the car to FME day at milan dragway. (FME is ford motorsport enthusiast of whic I am a member) The best Eric could muster (eric is the owner of the car) was a 13.58 a friend of ours (his name is Reko) took the car out 15min after the 13.58run and posted a 13.34 run. The car was BONE STOCK!

The car currently has an x pipe, 4:10's and nitto drag radials now. Next thursday is FME day again. I'll post what it runs with the mods.

:iagree: :D  anyway, there is some kid around where i live that just traded his 02 SS camaro in and got a 03 mach1. he cant beat the times he had posted in his camaro stock, with the Mach1. so basically, if you can take a stock LS1 F-body in your LT4...then chances r pretty good you can beat up on an 03 Mach1. either way, 03 mach1s r cool, but 03 cobras r alot cooler.

A buddy of mine has a 99gt and roasted an 03 march 1. I've seen serveral of these cars run mid to high 13's. It really depends on the driver though. Your LT4 should not have a problem beating one. It all depends on the driver. I know of a guy w/ a drop top 86 completely stock consistantly running 13.6 w/ a 1.8 60ft on street tires. :smash:

actually its more of an 01 cobra power wise, the GT is a 2 valve, the Mach is a 4 valve

Power-wise they are complely different than the DOHC Cobra. They share the same sb and heads, but the difference is the cams. In order to get better "off-the-line" torque, Ford put "truck" cams in the Mach. I've seen 100% bone-stock Mach dyno in the 270-280rwhp range, with 300-315tq at the wheels. With a capable driver, they run mid to low 13's.

With a few bolt-ons they are very capable of mid 12's. There is a Mach1 forum that can give you a better ideal of what real Mach1 drivers are running. Don't think for one second that they are a walk over.

However, stock for stock the LT4 wins

low 13's? I see new ones as in 99-02 running 14's over and over again....NOW like I asid earlier in 03 they got a major power increase so before the increase of power there are basicly the same as a gt. If your talking about a 99-02 mach a lt1 should rip it up GOOD and it vs a lt4 is a joke.
