'85 vette window switch backwards
I just inherited an '85, with 27k miles, and the passenger window goes down when you push the switch forward. Is this most likely do to the switch wiring, motor wiring, or could the switch be in backwards? Thanks

Re: '85 vette window switch backwards (CFI-EFI)
I was hoping for a little more insight. Are there obvious wire connections that can be put in backwards, or are the connectors in fixed directions. I know the door panel has been removed in the past, but if I can just remove the cover, and fix it at the switch, it would be much easier. Thanks

Re: '85 vette window switch backwards (buzzbomb)
Since you didn't cause the problem, you have no way of knowing where the error lies. Neither do I. You can tear the car apart looking for the fault, or just correct it in the easiest way for you.

Mine was the same way. Easy fix except for brittle, old plastic. Pull the center piece, spin switch, and re-install center piece. The switch is not shild proof and can be installed back-asswords.
