Default 85 to come alive! Replacing ALL underhood sensors - what is involved?

i'm getting back into the game "slowly" and have just purchased the cam for my first motor swap - so for total reliability and streetability, i am thinking of replacing ALL the sensors under the hood - what am i getting myself into?
just a few off the top of my head

Cold Start injector
Temp Sensor
Knock Sensor
MAF

help me fill in the rest of the blanks

Yeah that will cost ya, but peace of mind knowing they are all new is a good thing as well.
Anyone know what the total would be for all that?

I've heard the 85 MAF burnoff relay is rather pricey - let alone getting to it. 89 is easy to get to and way less expensive.

Most sensors are fairly reliable with the few duds long since replaced by better designs when the car was under warranty or the dealers picked them up under a Service Bulletin. One I believe, the cold start injector, is out of production. I'm somewhat skeptical too of Bosch's claim that you need to replace the O2 every 25k, but maybe that's because I live in a State with a 5yr/50K warranty on emissions parts (and none of the OEM's have faced a recall for O2 failures). If you don't own a scanner, you might want to spend your $'s on that and then compare what you got with typical values.

i was able to score diacom for a fairly decent price but the car is not running at this time - and i am sure all of the sensors will be readily available once that motor is pulled - agreed? the if it ain't broke don't fix it theory is usually mine, but since this will be my daily drive and hasn't been started in over a year and a half i am a bit skeptical - so whilt the car is apart, i'm gonna replace them all
guess i should get to ordering
anyone got any good sources for replacment parts?

***EDIT*** guess i also should have asked - are there any sensors that i should "upgrade" to newer models sensors for reliability? or should i stick with everything from the 85?

...replace the spark module with an updated one (per G Kilebrew).

 spark module? is that the thing on top of the distributor?

also - which sensors would be BEST to change out while the motor is OUT? figure i can replace the few while it's out, and the rest once it's back in (otherwise i fear the motor may never make it back in due to procrastination!)

No the ESC module is bolted one the passenger side directly across from the battery.

The air temp sensor (underside of the plenum), the oil pressure sender and oil pressure switch (near the distributor) are three that should be changed with the engine out.

The coolant temp sensor for the ECM and the cold start injector switch can be done with the engine in the car, but there are lots of stuff in front of them, so if I had a choice, I'd change them with the engine out too.

Most of the others are best left out until the engine is installed or you run the chance of breaking them as the engine is lowered into the engine bay.

You'll be out of several hundred dollars to do them all. Ecklers and Mid-America catalogs have most of them listed with the prices. You can probably get better prices from AutoZone, etc.

Jake
