I just purchased my first '84, info needed!
Hey guys,
I need some info on things to look for to help make this '84 safe and reliable!
I have never owned an '84 and just need some tips as far as problems that I might run into.
I have owned three other Vette's ('69, '94 & 01-ZO6) I sold my last one the ZO6 about a year ago and have regretted it every since, I got a good deal on the '84 and had to have something to eases the Vette fever.
Any info, sites or links that will help for this year model would be appreicated!
Thanks, Jeff

mmmmm.... living in the Southeast... no emission checks...
ditch the X-Fire and replace with Holley 4bbl.
Otherwise, nothing out of the ordinary... the digital dash was a bit weak, but you can install a later one if necessary.
is it an auto? or 4+3? either way, swap in a ZF 6spd.
congrats on the "new" Vette!

Check out the Crossfire Injection Vault http://www.crossfire.webhop.net/ There is a large library of everything that has to do with the '84. Good luck with your new toy!

Thanks Guys,
I would never have sold my ZO6, but my Daughter was going to college and I needed to free up some college funds, but now that she has dropped college and choose to marry! I should have some funds freed up soon and may look into another ZO6 later.
But I am going to play with this one for a while.
Thanks again for the info!
Jeff

You will enjoy the 84 very much. Nothing out of ordinary wrong with it (except, i agree the dash cluster) just keep it maintained and drive it hard. Enjoy and good luck. :steering:

84's are cool. If you are a diy-er, you will have a great time modifying it.
But please don't just whack a carb on it!! :nono: :nono:
