I'm not very familiar with the LT engines, but all other Chevy V8s use the same head on either side. A hole that is in the front on one side of the engine, is in the rear on the other side of the engine. You can't get them wrong. Good luck, and...

The temp sender on your 93 should be on the passenger side back, there shouldn't be a sender on the driver's side. You just got the heads on the wrong sides. It really shouldn't matter though because they are the same casting. You should find a plug in your passenger side head where the sensor should be. Just swap them.

I think we have a winner!
Now the question is... What's the wire in the rear on the drivers side???

well that wire IS the temp sender wire, because it plugs into the temp sender, no what its doing on the drivers side of the motor i have no clue. Guess i will just re route/ extend it

Once again, I don't know much about the LT engines. On the L83 (mine) and the L98s, the oil temp sender is just above the oil filter. Could this wire be for the OIL temp gauge? Extending the wire makes no sense. It was hooked up before you pulled the engine. Do you have a wire on the right rear for the "missing" sender? Just because a connector fits a device, doesn't mean...

Re: OK so what did i do wrong? (CFI-EFI)
Just went through all the engine wiring myself this weekend on my '93. On the drivers side lower engine wiring harness you should have an O2, knock, oil temp, and low oil sensor in the pan. The oil temp plug is different than the coolant temp, so I don't think that is it (it is real close to the 3 ground terminals that bolt to the block). If you have the wiring going to the right side of the motor, then maybe it is the low oil sensor plug that matches up. On the lower passenger side you have O2, knock, coolant temp (head), and starter. Does that help any? But the head sensor definitely goes on the passenger side.

The oil temp is 3-conductor, two green one black. There are 2 conductors in a row and one above the two. The coolant temp (passenger side) is a single conductor green wire. The connector looks like a 2-conductor, but one side is empty.

problem solved. I had broke both temp sensors when i took the motor out so i bought new ones at the auto parts. He gave me one coolant sensor (w/p), and the oil tep sender. Now i know teh problem
