Default ZF question?

My friend just bought a 1993, and when he tries to shift into second gear really fast, it grinds. I suspect it is the snycro. going or gone bad. Any advice? who to fix, parts?
Thanks

ZF doc could work on it, the link is somwhere here on the forum(do a search). "IF" there is a problem. How many miles are on the tranny? My friend did the same thing with his T56 until he figured out how to shift it right.

I researched the same problem with my 96. If what Im told is correct, it's due to bad synchros and expect to pay 1800 for an overhaul. :(
