New valves do not have previsions for O-ring seals, should i put them on anyway?
I am assembling a set of heads and the stainless steal valves i got do not have the groves for the o-rings should I still put them on the valve or not?
i currently have 12511890 valve seal kit seen here: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/perform...CATID=749.html
I did some searching and some people run 16 of these seals http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/perform...CATID=749.html Would that solve my problem if i just used those without o-rings?

Without the groove, the O ring is useless.
Felpro makes a good viton intake seal. Use 16 of those or similar as in your link.

AGENT 86,
Do you have the part number? Will they work without O-rings? Also do you know if thoes GM seals I posted above will work without O-rings

Felpro SS 72527
They both would work without O ring. The O ring just seals the valve to the retainer so oil doesn't run down the valve stem. The seal on the valve guide does all the work.
Viton is a better material than what G.M. used

I heave heard that it is not safe to use positive seals on the exhaust because it doesn't allow enough oil to get into the guide. Is it safe to use these seals on exhaust valves?

I can only say that all the searches I did on the net should pics of high performance heads with positive seals on all 16.
When I asked other forum members, most were using 16 intake seals with no problems.
