Hey All,

I have a set of c5 calipers laying around and was wondering if they would be better than the HD calipers that I already have. Im new at posting here and and replies, I thank in advance.

you will need an adapter plate to make the C5 brakes fit, but they are slightly better than J55

Brake pads are about 25 % larger than J55 (that's my HO)

Depends on what you plan on doing with the car.

Street, the J55 will be sufficient

Racing, you'll need something more than the C5 calipers.

Are the adapter brakets hard to find?

I only use it for the street, and a few blasts down the 1/4 mile. I was just wondering if the C5 calipers are worth the $125 for the adapters. They look better than the grey calipers that or on my LT4.

Yes they are. I have them on my 86 and the diffeence from my stock brakes to C5 brakes is very noticable. Also, you can find the adapters for cheaper and in VERY good quality. Send Edsalinas a IM on the forum.

:iagree: I don't have them on my car, but from everything I've read the C5 calipers are a HUGE inprovement over the stock calipers - even the Grand Sport calipers.

If I had a set 'laying around' I would certainly consider installing them on my car.

in 95 j55 was set to be standard brake option carried over from the zr1 so i have them on my 95 i can't really tell a difference maybe my dads 99 needsa brake job? either one i think you will be happy.

edsalinas adapters are awesome. The only way to go for the C5 conversion. :thumbs:
