Default Daytime running lights on a C4. How difficult?

How can I wire my fog lights so they're on when driving, like the C5's? I know there is a kit for $180 from corvette central (in which they blink when the blinker is on). There has to be a cheaper way of doing this. All info appreciated.
Thanks,
Rick

I did not make this but found it surfing the net once. It is cheaper and it is for the corner parking/turn lights

I run with my fogs on all the time. (they aren't bright enough to irritate anyone)

All you need to do is:
1) turn on parking lights
2) turn on fog lights

Are you talking about the so-called driving lights that turn on by pushing the button below the main headlight **** If so, why would you really want to do this, especially since I understand that it is a real pita to replace those bulbs.

Its actually the turn signal lights that I want to stay on (without the parking lights on all the way around).
Jeff- Thanks for the schematic

94 M6-- Thanks for that site.$38 is alot cheaper then $189.Thats what I will get.
Thanks for all your input. Rick

Quote: Its a real PITA to replace those bulbs.

Doesnt seem too hard on my LT1 car.... However it is nearly impossible to replace the lenses if they are broken. You have to remove the front clip !!!

If you want to make the fog lights come on whenever you start the car, pull off the under dash trim tap into the wire from the foglight switch and hook up a switched on source to it.

Any time you turn the car they will be on.

IMHO I dont like that since I use them to flash people, etc.

Parking lots ....I dont know, Id try to do the same thing with the headlamps switch...

GM sells DLR kits for many of their older models of cars that did not originally have it ... They may very well make one for the vettes as well.

dizwiz24--I thought I remember hearing that to get to the bulbs you have to remove the front bumper?? Is this true or can you get to the bulbs with small hands?

I bought the one form webelectronics and it was easy to insatll. About 30 minutes and they work great. I am getting ready to purchase another one to install it on my Dad's Vette.

I installed the webelectricproducts kit on my 95 LT1 coupe with little trouble. I used the pink wires from the engine cooling fans for the ignition switched power connection. The other connections tap into your left and right park/turn signal wiring very easily. I bought some corrugated split conduit to hide my wiring additions and you can hardly notice the wiring add-ons.

I can send you some installation help suggestions that I had found on the web if you want. I did have to return my unit because it was not operating correctly on one side. The vendor replaced a transistor and returned it ASAP. Good customer service.

I like the product, especially at the price. I don't need a daylight sensor and everything else like the $160 kits.

Essentially, the kit turns both the turn and park lamps on when the ignition is on - looks like the C5's. If you turn on your brights you lose the DRL. There is an option (cutting a wire) on how you want it to work when you use the turn signals.

You do not have to pull the front clip/bumper to change the fog lights.

There is access panels for both bulbs on the underside of the valence. Just unscrew the single screw holding them on, flip open the panel, and then reach up and rotate the lamp assemly 90 degrees in the foglight. It will pull straight down. The wiring is long enough so that you can pull it out to unclip the bulb from the wiring harness.

Even with big hands its not too hard of a job. It helps to have the front end of the car raised though, since the car is so low to the ground already.

Hey 95VROOM, I bought one of those also and had the same thing happen. One side wouldn't light. LT (the guy who makes them) replaced it with no problem. Great customer service. Unfortunatly after about a month the new one is doing the same thing. I could squeeze the module just right and it would work for awhile. I'm going to contact LT again to see what to do. I love the look but want it to work. :smash:
