Went to local auo parts store to pick up new plugs for my car. Sales person says 89 came with both aluminum and iron heads. Is this true? IF so how can i tell if i have aluminum heads or not?

The switch over from iron to aluminum was in '86. Your '90 has aluminum heads :yesnod:

As stated above your '89 Vette came only with #113 Al heads.

This is true, but didn't "F" body L98s have iron heads? Was the parts person told it was a Corvette? These poor guys only have their computer to go by. I constantly get asked whether my '84 is a convertable and what engine it has. Computers! Ain't they great? Good luck, and...

Yes i made it clear that i wanted plugs for 89 corvette. I asked for the same plug that is presently in my car. AC TYPE FR5LS. Then he asked if i had aluninum? He stated that 89 CORVETTES CAME WITH BOTH? I couldnt remember ever reading about any mid. year head change.

You are right. No mid year head change in 1989. As posted above, that happened in 1986. His computer program may be screwed up, but he should have quit when you asked for them by number, if they carry ACs. Good luck, and...
