Transmission slips when it's hot...
I'm looking at a '95 Convertible, but I'm told the automatic transmission slips when it's hot (he didn't say air temp or tranny temp). Any idea what this could be? Big problem (big money)?

How many miles? Usually this is a sign that you have some internal leakage or low pressure situation when the ATF thins down with temperature. This could be anywhere in the fluid pathway--from the ATF pump to leakage within the valve body. You'll have to have a trained transmission specialist diagnose it properly.
I have an older car ('95 BMW with the GM 4L30E tranny) with 141K miles. It started acting this way at 134K miles. My short term fix was to change out the fluid to Redline High Temp ATF which has a higher viscosity and to replace the filter but the tranny is definitely in death-watch mode.
Look into the tranny rebuild cost (probably at least $1,500-$2,500). If you really like the car, use that as negotiating leverage.
