Default Light Burned-out on Bose Stereo?

The bulb for the stereo (Bose gold series w/CD) display is burned-out, can it be replaced?

I did this last Saturday and almost put my hand through the windshield. After taking the stereo out (and dropping some of the screws where I couldnt reach them) I took the stereo in the house and took that apart. Once I unscrewed the circut board it exposed the light. It looked like they just plugged in but after pulling one out THEY WERE SAUDERED IN! After puting it back together and putting it back in the car none of the buttons would work. The wiring harness has about 20 prongs and if there not fully connected it wont work. It's impossible to see as when your closing the unit they disapear. I finally dissasembled the whole unit EVERY SCREW and was able to go in the back door and firmly press the harness together. Not only did I not fix the unit I scratched my console that is brand new. The light can stay out for all I care now. :mad :nopity

I had the same problem. I took it to a audio electronics shop. He replaced the bulbs for $20 CDN. That's about $15 USD. It's been great since. So yeah it can be fixed. By the way, that was for a 1994.

I think there was a article on here a few months back about this. I believe it was by purple C4? Anyways, it gave the radio shack bulb nos. and how to solder them in. If I can find it, I will edit this post.

I did it and wrote a message on it. It was a long message so I'll see if I can find it.. -

PS: Here it is: http://corvetteactioncenter.com/foru...threadid=30239

BTW: there are 3 bulbs that light the LCD display, two on top, and one in the middle on the bottom.
