Default 84 Brakes

I have an 84 that I have owned since it was new. The brakes work fine in everyday applications but I have noticed that making high speed stops or repeated, like even the second, high speed stop creates incredible fade. I can stomp on the brakes at any time and they will not lockup but instead create a nice and gentle predictable stop. I have checked the vacuum line, filter and check valve and they seem to be ok. I replaced the front rotors with slotted versions and changed the pads. Still no difference. Any suggestions.

I have the same thing going wrong with the one that we have It acts like it is losing vaccum in the system. I found that my intake is leaking so figure that is where I am losing the vaccum from. I used a can of carb cleaner and sprayed around the intake and found it. Note: Had a spark and caught fire but no damage. This has never happened to me before been doing it for years. My father showed me that trick and My father in law is a mechanic and that how he does it. Good luck and happy braking

I have an 84...................................... ...........
Could be your seals/o-rings are gone. Hydraulic sytems need very tight seals to work right ! ! ! !

Mine does the same thing, just had a brake job (complete), done. You think it would not fade, But?
Corvette Central has some rotor kits, I am looking at.
Just FYI.
GoodLuck
