car keeps stalling and won't start
Today when I was driving home, the car stalled on me. It wouldn't turn over for a couple of minutes and the started up. I went about a 1/4 mile and as soon as I came to idle it stalled again. This time it started right up. Went about another 1/4 mile and it stalled when i stopped in my driveway. I started it up in my driveway and it ran fine. I revved it a couple of times and let it back down to idle. I repeated this for a couple of minutes and it was fine. A couple hours later, I started it and it lasted about 5 seconds and stalled. Now it won't start at all.
I went to pull the codes (if any) and now the coolant fan comes on as soon as I put the ignition in the on position, this is without putting the wire in the two pin slots. With the wire in the ALDL, the SES light doesn't blink.
any suggestions?
I just replaced the fuel pump last year. the car is cranking, just not starting, so it's not the battery or alternator (which are new from last year also).

Re: car keeps stalling and won't start (Goody)
fixed. bad electrical connection to the fuel injectors. the connection is right under the throttle body and has two connections in the plug. it must have rattled loose.
Thanks for everyone's help!

Re: car keeps stalling and won't start (scorp508)
Mine stalled out on me this afternoon, i went to crank her after she's been sitting 25min, and she immediately shut down after it cranked.
I cranked it again and revved it a little, she ran fine.
But i'm also going to be replacing my injectors soon.

The injector wires that you mention - which fuel rail did they come off of? If the passenger side, where the two wires yellow and black? If so, that would be the temp sensor and would explain why the fan came on. If from the driver's side and wires were purple and tan(ish), that is the 9th injector delay switch (only used when it is cold for a few seconds). These are both essentially under the throttle body. I ask this because, like Scorp, I am unaware of fuel injector wires under the TB. Also, after you found the bad connection, what codes did you pull? (Even if no problem, you should get a code 12 to verify that self diagnosis is working). Not being a smart***, but I have had a similar problem and I am curious as to what you found.

Re: car keeps stalling and won't start (loflyin)
pulled no codes. the connection is still loose. it's the connection that's mounted to the thermostat bolt. there are some vacuum lines that are mounted under it, one runs to the TB and one runs under the plenum somewhere. is this the cooling fan relay?

Re: car keeps stalling and won't start (Ray Quayle)
Thanks, for all of your help. I called ecklers, they are going to overnight me the part $34 for the solenoid and $30 for S&H. I'm getting married tomorrow and I needed to get the car running by then. Wish me luck and I hope I don't stall on the way home from the reception.

You said you replaced the fuel pump last year. Mine went out after 7 months. Check the pressure at the rail before you rule this out.
