96 does not use a Chip, you must reprogram the PCM with a tuning module or laptop.

And you wont see any HP gains even if you did.

i was looking at thier web site---and i looks like you just plug it in--they show 15-20 hp increase--just wondering if anyone has done this to their vette.

I think it's possible he could see some HP gains if he took it to the track and did a "before and after" run. However, I think what should be said is that he won't feel any gains (like SOTP) from just a chip....err, reprogramming the PCM.

Don't quote me on this guys...Vader does know his poopie about these cars.

Any of these generic programs or ECM stuff give very little if any gain in HP/Tq. They may give 15-20hp on their tests, but they arent telling you the conditions of the test, because then youd really know that they were worthless. The only real benefits to them are that they change fan settings allowing the engine to stay cooler, and can reprogram the speedo for a rear gear change. Automatics can have their shift points changed and firmness of the shift. They are by no means worth the money you pay for them, theyre only robbing you blind.
