With all my experience in Chevy small blocks, I have always used the copper gaskets. They just seal so well for me. I currently have them on my LT-1 with headers; still sealing well. They cost a little more, but in jobs like these, you want something reliable.

I went with the stock gaskets from my local Chevy dealer as they worked well for years.
They run around $50 for a complete set.
