Default lt1 race block?

tpis told me they built an lt1 with a 4.1" bore, using a gm race block. does anybody know anything about this block?

I do not know all of the details, but have also heard of this being done by some racers. Check with Trevor at "Exotic Muscle" in Tempe AZ..... I think he has done this if not he is very up on what every one is doing and why.

I've heard of these blocks, but from what I've been told they are virtually impossible to find. I know of one right now, but there is no way you can get it from the guy that owns it for good reasons on his part.

Looks like that would only give you 409 cubic inches with a 3.875 stroke crank. $$$$$$$$$ :steering:

How different are the different generation blocks?

Given the number of LT1s out there, I would think there would be a significant market for a big bore second generation small block.

The LT1 is a seriously different... The Gen 1 heads will not fit on the Gen II block... the flow of the coolant is reversed... the ignition, technially, is different, but the engine will support a conventional distributor.
