How do you lower the front of a C4 3-4 inches?????????
I have an z06 ls6 in my c4 and the front of the car lost about 300 lbs total after the swap and deleteing a few things. The front of the car sits about 4-5 inches higher and i need it lowered 3-4 inches if possible. If not, then how can i get 2"?

I honestly don't think it can be done without coilovers. I've seen some C4's slammed pretty hard in front, but 3-4 inches is a TON.

Do you have any pics of your car, that'd be pretty neat to see.

Shave the rubber spacers on the front spring off removing them completely and remove the spacers on the ends of the front spring. That is about as low as you can get it without going to a coil over.

That sounds like you're going to need a custom-rate transverse leaf spring, or coilovers.
The front of the car is too light for the old spring! Wow!
Bet you've got some interesting handling problems...boing, boing, BOING!...

Are you sure about THAT much lift? :skep: :skep: I had the engine clean out of mine, and I don't remember the front end coming up that much.

Wow! Maybe obvious, but have you driven it so it can settle? Did you do anything with the front suspension? I.e., did you have control arms loose and tighten them with the weight off and the wheels at full drop? If so, try loosening the bolts a bit and driving it around, then retorque with full weight on the wheels. Removing 300 pounds should raise it maybe an inch. My LT4 is on an engine stand right now and the front end isn't up anywhere close to 3-4 inches - maybe 1.5. Let us know what you find out. Also, pics of a LS6 in a C4 would be great. Paul

I am skeptical about this thread. The car did not rise 3-4 inches with a motor swap. The wheel spring rate is not 50lb/in.

My motor is out and theres only a 3 inch gap. I removed the spacers above the middle of the zo7 spring and chopped off the legs on the ends of the spring. With the motor back in the fender is level with the topof the tire.... 'no gap'.
An Ls6 in a c4 would only raise barely an inch..... the c5 chassis weighs 2-300 lbs less not the motor alone.
