Default Just did the TB bypass mod.

And on the '95 it was very easy. No extra parts needed at all. (except for one beer). I simply unclamped the two in-out coolant lines from the tb, towel-caught as much of the extra coolant pee as I could, discarded the short elbow hose (which I'm not sure was either the 'in' or 'out' line) (passenger side) that
goes into the solid line that then goes to the heater (aparently). Then I simply took the other line (drivers side) which ran out the top of the radiator, re-routed it and clamped it right to that solid passenger side line. Easy. No cutting, no parts, and only a few cuss words. Twenty minutes well spent.

Thanks goes to this site and all of you.

You won't feel the difference, but dyno's show a 5-7hp gain after TB bypass

Agree, every horsepower counts, especially when they are free!

well, why did they route the coolant through there in the first place? GM must've had a reason, otherwise they would've taken the free horsepower too.

Same way I did mine. I also used a plastic tie-down strap to hold the TB bypass line to the water pump hose because I found that it tended to press upwards against the IAT sensor and cause the IAT sensor to want to rotate out of its forward position.

Simply to melt any frost off the butterflies in the tb during mid-winter start-ups. This was to facilitate the needs of the national cult of Corvette Snow Plow owners and to benefit those who don't have enough gas money to leave Detroit or New Jersey. :D

Consequently, the hot coolant passing through heats up the air intake charge thereby hurting horsepower.
Do your car a favor and do the bypass.
:chevy

The Intake Air Temp sensor ? Hmmm. I'll have to go in for a second look. Pretty sure mine was free and clear on the re-route path I used. Thanks for the tip Ranger.

I did mine and forgot to rehook the idle control. I restarted the car and it wouldn't come off a 1200 rpm idle. After a couple of minutes and a trip to the garage fridge I figured it out.
