Time to kick it into gear, guys
C4 1/4 mile times on this site.
DSM.org's 1/4 mile times. (link not presently working)
When DSM's link was working yesterday, their entire top 10 list was all sub 10 second quarter mile times. I checked here for the best C4 1/4 mile times, and only a few people have sub 10 second 1/4 mile times. :smash: :boxing :cry If you look down the list in order of ET, some times are sub 8 seconds, but those are 1/8 mile times.
Surely we're not going to let some silly little 4 cylinder turbo engine outdo us, are we? :chevy :boxing :flag

OK. I went to the website referenced above. No pictures. Which of these cars are running 8's and 10's? Are these stripped-down racers? I assume they're all supercharged.
If we were to strip-down a Corvette and supercharge it and do everything to make a quartermile trip, we know the Corvette would out-perform the DSMs. Where's the website that lists the fastest Corvettes in the quartermile? I have no doubt there are Corvettes running quicker than DSMs. I think that site is just looking at how quick they are in the quartermile. Period. This website is an enthusiast website which is generally frequented by folks who drive their Corvettes on the street. It's sort of apples and oranges.
On the other hand, anytime any factory puts a supercharger on a well-built engine in a decent platform vehicle, YES there will be great potential there for a very quick ride. I actually would have bet that the 50th anniversary Corvette would have been a supercharged V8 making around 600hp+. I was pretty disappointed when it was just stripes and paint. Even Ford has figured it out. There SVO is really a great value when you look at 4 seats, 4 wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel discs, 390hp, and priced around $35,000.
GM should really offer a top-of-the-line Corvette with a supercharged V8 making upwards of 550hp.
