Transo transmission kit on an L98 C4 - any experience?
Hi.
Looking for comments on the transgo performance shift kit for the 700.
Looks to me like it makes the transmission semi-automatic. Lets me lock in 1 or 2, but in Drive or Overdrive acts like a regular automatic transmission, only with quicker shifts. Am I right?
Does anyone have experience putting this in and / or driving it?
I can probably handle the install myself having replaced the sealer on the dome last year without doing any damage.
I do some parking lot autocrossing and some closed track solo racing and I'm looking for something to get me a little closer to the performance of a standard while still being able to be a lazy SOB cruizing around town.
Thanks.

Discard the 3-4 spring in the transgo kit and reuse your stock 3-4 spring. The 3-4 spring is to stiff for corvette VB that have a 3-4 WOT shift. You can use the Transgo 3-4 spring, but you will need to recalibrate your govenor. (its a lot easier to just to reuse the stock spring) The hardest part for my installation is the TV valve in the pump, I ended up ditch the transgo TV valve and putting a .500 TV valve and filling off the land on the pressure regulator valve (keeps constant oil pressure to the TC)
Sorry, I can't give any real driving comments as I have only driven it 6 miles or so since install.

I have the transco kit in my 700 and man I love it. It made a world of difference in the car. There's a few tricks that you need to know about tho. Do yourself a favor and call Bill @ B&K transmission. (520) 795-9823. Tell him I told you to call him, he's a very cool racing type dude, you'll be glad you did.

Thanks eddie, Dave and Probuilt;
I haven't got the kit yet, making plans for it to go in as the car comes out of storage next month, but I'll definately make the calls as I get close.
your comments have led me to decide to get the kit.
