What would you consider big power? Would the Sledgehammer count? ( 750-900 HP )

I think since C4's are so cheap and so available...there is probably millions of them making lots of power.

I think Limey is making over 550 to the rear wheels with his 415 ZR-1. He also sprays with a 200 shot on top of that.

Mine does alright for a naturally aspirated pump gas motor, but there are guys out there making more than mine.

I dont see how thier rear ends last with that much power? EVen if its a Dana 44 how can it survive 1000+HP?

With that much power and if you use Drag SLicks at the strip, I think the Dana will rip all up? OR will it last? If so then you would need like billit Parts whichj would cost a ton of money, right?

421 Vette is right. There are lots of guys out there with big power.
I'm in tha same "hood" as 421 Vette, maybe a little more.
Gotta look at my dyno sheets. Don't memorize 'em or use 'em on my sig.
I do run on race fuel though.

From the pictures in the write-up in Popular Hotrodding, John Meany is running a Dana 36!!!

How is that possible that he is using a Dana 36? :bs That must have been a typo in the Mag, I hear guys breaking the Dana 44 at the strip and dont even have half the power he brings :bs

A Dana 44 won't last with slicks at the drags. A drag specicfic car with that kind of power will almost definetly be running a spool.

But for the streets it would have to run on none slicks right? ALso would their be a limmit on how wide the tire can be when using that much power?

Like all things, I suspectit depends on how he treats it. If he's using a slushbox andbuilding power with turbos, the driveline shock is quite a bit less than if he's making 400 ft-lbs of torque off idle an sidestepping the clutch. :smash:

I've been talking to a cryo-treater, he seems to think treating a DANA 36 is all it would take to get it to live. Don't know if you've noticed, but DANA 36 parts are a LOT cheaper.
