Default C4 project

Hey guys long time lurker first time poster I bought my corvette about a year ago and for the most part I'm happy with it but its definitely showing its age and I basically have two ideas to kinda wake it up in a sense i was thinking of doing a gen V LT1 swap with the 6l80 behind it or simply building the gen II lt1 currently in it I'm aiming for around 375-400 whp by time its all said and done but planning on doing most of the supporting mods (brakes fuel delivery suspension ect.) in the mean time has anyone on the forum done a full gen V swap before?

383 rotoatng assembly, long tubes headers and mild cam can get you to 400HP with out it becoming a time sucking science project. Unless that's what you want. Once you get into interfacng modern PCM's to legacy guages the price and time involved goes way up. The all the little thngs like custom wiring hoses for cooling and A/C can really add up.

I've seen those builds make 400 bhp but closer to the mid 300s at the wheel I'm sure if I wanted to I could look at boost at that point if everything else was in line

How so?. Do the LT4 updates, those are Dyno'ing reliably at 350HP with less displacement and stock cam. Add in the extra displacment and hot cam and you're there.
Option 2, clearance the block for a 3.875 stroke 396. That would be fun too. All the torque from the stroke and the RPM from the short runner intake.

An LS swap would easily give you that kind of power and cost a 1/4 of the money. Also I don't think a 6L90 is going to fit very well. I have a LQ9 with a 4L80e in mine and it was a tight squeeze. But mine is 500 hp without the nitrous. 400 hp is easy with an LS. And the parts are a lot more common.

Just do a good heads/cam package, LTs, and other standard bolt on accessories and tune, and you will have what you want.
