Default New Powerdyne Powerdyne/Cool Charger/Dinan/Ford Motorsport Supercharger BD11a Curved

Will it fit on my 95’ lt1 c4 corvette and is it worth it pushing out 16psi
can it only handle 450hp at most or can it be more or add 450 in confused because if I can add about 14 psi and each psi is 10 hp and my corvette can probably push 340 it’ll go up to 440 hp if I’m wrong please correct me but would it be risky?Performance Specifications:
  • Max Speed: 42,500 RPM
  • Max Boost: 16 PSI
  • Max Flow: 900 CFM
  • Max Power: About 450HP
  • Peak Efficiency: 84%
Dimensions:
  • Discharge outside diameter: 3″
  • Inlet outside diameter: 3.5″
  • Discharge inner diameter: 2.4″”
  • Inducer Diameter: 3″

LT1 Powerdynes were originally offered in 4.5 and 6lb. You could pulley them down but the inneficiency of the design lead to not much happening past 7 or 8lbs. Heat blah blah blah. Basically they were an easy, no mess install and were good for a quick easy boost. If you want more boost you went with the more expensive superchargers with intercoolers, bigger fuel pump, Injectors, internals...

Where are you getting this complete unit from?

Contrary to popular belief, you can make decent power with a Powerdyne BD-11a.

Here is an old log of a dyno pull that was done on a hot day with limited airflow to the intercooler where it made 478 rwhp. Keep in mind that my car is a bit exhaust choked with 2 1/4" pipes and old Flowmaster direct fit mufflers (50 series). 500 rwhp should be achievable under better conditions, but is approaching the upper limits for this blower. My results are not typical.

I have a powerdyne on my L98. It makes 6 pounds of boost. Anymore then that would require a smaller pulley but then you are taking a chance of over revving the unit and destroying the bearings.
