ABS and Cruise control 1990 c4
1990 c4. I read that there may be a cruise control requirement for the ABS to function? I have removed the cruise control from under the hood, but the module under the dash is still plugged in. Currently I do not have an ABS light on, but the ABS is not functioning. I will need to start trouble shooting.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I haven't scanned yet. I don't even know how. I just learned that it wasn't functioning last night when I did some brake testing. I currently don't have an ABS light on, but I'll need to reassemble the dash to be able to lock up the wheels w/ the indicators in place, hopefully by next week. I'll have 3 wks to fix or I'll be racing without it. I have 6 pistons in the front that are awesome and upgraded grippier rear pads that may keep up a little. We would like a little ABS backup if we hit something slippery in a corner. It's a common Lemon's story.
All tips are appreciated. I'll post some finished project picks before and after the race. Everyone has been helpful.

Remember when I suggested running your own wires?
Cruise control is on it's own circuit with a powered fuse for the system. ABS is a separate system as well. But it has 4 grounds and 5 power spots with 4 fused ( 5 amp cluster, 10amp brake, 10 amp air bag, 20 amp stop/haz).
Depending upon what is wrong with your system, you may need a tech1/tech2 to pull the codes, as the paperclip method does not show all of them.

Melting Slicks
A Vetronix GM Tech 1 is required with a 1990 Bosch ABS cartridge. The only way to diagnosis an ABS problem. The paper clip method will not work. With the Tech 1, you can test each wheel speed sensor, cycle the pump and other things. Using the Tech 1 is also recommended to cycle the pump when changing brake fluid.
