What the heck is this on my 92 master cylinder?
I woke up early to change my master cylinder. After bench bleeding it and starting to install it I noticed it's a little different than the one I removed. I actually looked over the fittings before I started but overlooked this port. I have no ide what the port is for or if it's truly necessary. The look of it reminds me of the old anti-freeze over flow bottle.
Do I need to try and return it ( it's full of brake fluid) or can I plug the line line and be on my way? Does the line go to a sensor? I am pointing to it in my pic. Thanks!

It attaches to the abs prime pipe and is absolutely needed. You will either need to purchase a master cylinder with the correct reservoir or swap the old reservoir to the new master.
I would definitely recommend bench bleeding too. EDIT: sounds like you did that!

I swapped reservoirs. Quickest fix I could come up with. Napa tried but could only find similar ones and not the one with the port that is required. I already missed my window of cool temperature to work in. It's hot and humid already. Long day ahead..
