Default Re: Edelbrock tpi or converted LT1 intake for 383... (Ivan383)

the edelbrock base & runners are worth a lot more than a stock lt1 intake. if the lt1 intake is a full conversion ready to go it becomes more fair.

as far as what's better? well what do you do with the car? if you have less than 215-220deg of duration at .50 and don't take the engine over 5500rpms you'll be happier with the big TPI. it's also suited for a high geared stock auto car.

if you have a manual or deep gear on a auto with a converter and a little more cam the LT1 will knock the TPI into next week. the LT1 would be nice on something like a 383 with a 230/236 cam and shifts at 6500rpm with a 6800rpm redline.
