hi i have a 1996 base model; corvette lt1 so pulled the first opti out at 8100 miles it was a mistake tyo use same sensor and wheel it still ran rough so i took out opti and throw in garbage spent more on a accel opti installed it and now it runs real bad so check plug wires replaced plugs and wires, coil ,and egr still barely runs starts up idles ok put a load on it and misses real misses real bad any advice . ps. oh ya while installed the alternator the plug got smashed and it arced out just for a second door light didnt work so i checked fuses didnt find blown fuse but then lights came back on in the doors it still runs like crap the guy at oriellys said( time it with a light)how do i time it with out being able to turn distributor im really stuck ps i cant spell real well sorry everyone

PS: Can't time a 96 with a light.

I think Accel opti's are junk. I had one that lasted 15 minutes then wouldn't run at all. Since it was under warranty, I tried a second one. After about 500 miles, the second one started acting up.. if the engine was above about 5000rpm, it would misfire and cut out. And when that was happening, the tach would jump around. So the second one was junk too. So now I have an AIP opti. so far its been perfect
